Der pietistische Fokus auf die individuelle Gottesbeziehung gewichtete das fromme Selbst im Verhältnis zu gesellschaftlichen Konstruktionen wie Standes- und Geschlechterkonstellationen neu. In Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen historisch-praxeologischen Ansätzen und unter einer konsequenten Netzwerkperspektive untersucht die im Schnittfeld von historischer Bildungs- und genderorientierter Pietismusforschung angesiedelte Studie die Briefe zweier Frauen der Quedlinburger pietistischen Bewegung (1691–1703), Sophia Maria von Stammer, geb. von Selmnitz († 1705), und Anna Magdalena Francke, geb. von Wurm (1670–1734), als Praktiken frommer Selbst-Bildung. 

The pietistic focus on the individual relationship with God reweighted the pious self in relation to social constructs such as class and gender constellations. In dialogue with current historical-praxeological approaches and from a consistent network perspective, this study, situated at the intersection of historical education and gender-oriented Pietism research, examines the letters of two women from the Quedlinburg Pietist movement (1691–1703), Sophia Maria von Stammer, née von Selmnitz († 1705), and Anna Magdalena Francke, née von Wurm (1670–1734), as practices of pious self-education.
