Assoziationsraum Wunderkammer

 Die Kunst- und Naturalienkammer der Franckeschen Stiftungen bildet den Ausgangspunkt, um Prinzipien der Wunderkammer zu reflektieren und den Denkraum einer multimedial ausgerichteten und global vernetzten künstlerischen Produktion aufzuspannen. Dabei wird das einstige universalistische Modell mit einem gegenwärtigen transnationalen Handeln zusammen gedacht. Der Katalog Assoziationsraum Wunderkammer zeigt junge und arrivierte künstlerische und gestalterische Positionen aus verschiedensten Ländern. Zudem behandeln acht kunst- und kulturhistorische Essays wesentliche Aspekte des Ideenhintergrunds der Wunderkammern, der Sammlungsinhalte, Ordnungsprinzipien und Verknüpfungen mit pädagogischen Konzepten sowie wissenschaftlichen Diskursen.Ein Kooperationsprojekt der Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle und der Franckeschen Stiftungen zu Halle anlässlich des 100. Jubiläums der Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle 2015

The Francke Foundation's art and natural history collection serves as a starting point for reflecting on the principles of the cabinet of curiosities and expanding the scope of multimedia-oriented and globally networked artistic production. In doing so, the former universalist model is considered in conjunction with contemporary transnational activity. The catalogue Assoziationsraum Wunderkammer (Association Room Cabinet of Curiosities) presents young and established artistic and design positions from a wide variety of countries. In addition, eight art and cultural history essays deal with essential aspects of the ideas behind the cabinets of curiosities, the contents of the collections, principles of organisation and links to educational concepts and scientific discourses. A cooperation project between Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle and the Francke Foundations in Halle on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle in 2015.
